A journey through the ages

First residence of the Dukes, then summer residence of the King of Württemberg: Castle Ludwigsburg plays an important role in the history of the country. On a tour of the magnificent state rooms, visitors will experience an impressive journey through time, from lush Baroque to playful Rococo to elegant classicism. A special feature is the Schlosstheater with its original stage machinery from 1758.

Baroque experience for all senses

Several museums and permanent exhibitions in the castle provide insights into the lifestyle of the past. The Fashion Museum stages a fashion show with original clothing from the 18th to the 20th century, the Ceramics Museum displays precious Ludwigsburg porcelain, but also contemporary art ceramics. In the baroque gallery masterpieces of baroque painting can be admired.
